#D690 Early Tiger Oak "Mule Chest"
Early tiger oak "Mule Chest" with paneled front and raised panel sides. Two bottom drawers trimmed with inlaid mahogany. Original hand forged hinges and hardware. Hand chamferred panels in the back! One of the theories on how it became known as a mule chest is that early colonists called shoes "mules" and people stored their shoes in the bottom drawers. This is a beautiful piece! 32 1/2"t x 46"w x 20 1/2"d
