#E352 Haberdashery Cabinet ??

I am calling this a Haberdashery cabinet although I am not quite sure how it was actually used. This is a very unusual piece, I have never seen anything quite like it in my almost 40 years. It is very ornate with a scroll carved hidden locking compartment at the top that lifts up and has a prop stick to hold the lid open. The hidden compartment is ony about 2 inches deep but spans the width and depth of the cabinet. There are 28 drawers that are sewing machine style drawers (2 different styles if you look closely). The door has an oval beveled mirror and the sides have bombay style curves. The top piece sits on a cast iron base. The back is finished as if it were made to be walkd around as opposed to be put up against a wall. There is a tiger oak oval bottom shelf. 81 1/2" t x 35 3/8"w (at the metal base), the cabinet itself is 33 1/8"w, 25" d (at the legs), the cabinet is 20 5/8"d.
